The Reddit Version Of Twitter’s Fail Whale

I learned something today about one of my favorite social media sites, reddit. If you like to laugh, and if you haven’t visited reddit, I highly recommend it. The funniest most random stuff you’ve ever seen somehow always ends up on that site. However, just like veteran Twitter and Digg users, reddit users have a style all their own. I don’t participate much in the conversations yet since I’m still learning about the community, but I’m on that site almost everyday, and I tweet content from there often.

Unbelievable Pencil Art by Paul Lung

It’s hard to belive but all these beautiful pictures are not photos but pencil drawings. The author of such unbelievable art is 38-year-old graphic artist from Hong Kong Paul Lung. 0.5 mm technical pencil and A2 paper are the only attributes of these masterpieces. He doesn’t use eraser and spends up to 60 hours sketching out his pictures. As he often admits people do not belive him and he has to make videos of his work to prove that these art works are not photographs. Check these beautiful artworks by yourself.

Smart House with Amazing Ability to Transform

This smart house really exists in Warsaw. Its uniqueness lies in its unusual concept – the house is a real castle but only when his owner is away from home. In this case, the house looks like a bunker or secret building with impenetrable fence, with no windows and doors. But as soon as the owner enters the main gate – the house is miraculously transformed. Impenetrable concrete fence is folded, windows are open and eventually smart house turns into a luxury country mansion with an indoor pool. Interior of the house is designed in a minimalist style and looks modern. Transformation of the house so incredible that you have to see these photos by yourself.

The Memories Collection

Memories… The older we get, the more memories we have. Artist Charles Peterson has devoted a series of paintings to the memories – “The Memories Collection”. While creatine these paintnings he appealed primarily to his own memories, his paintings are close and understandable to all. They allow the viewer back to a carefree happy childhood and remember the taste of mom’s pie, swimming a race in the pond, gentle voice grandmother … For this effect, the artist uses a combination of bright and clear background with faded human figures, more like ghosts. People who might already be dead, but who will always live in our memories and hearts. Series “The Memories Collection” has 60 paintings. Reproductions of paintings-memories were so popular in society, that the American edition of US Art Magazine included the name of Charles in the top ten representatives of the national printing industry.

Some time ago we’ve shown you beautiful residence Aura designed by talanted architector Andreas Trisveis. Today we want to show you another interesting project created by Andreas. It’s called “Emerald Exclusive Residences – Platy” and will be located in Nicosia – Cyprus. It is inspired by one of the most influential female American artist of the 20th century, Georgia O’Keeffe. It is a piece of art of hers called “From the lake”. As noted on website of the residence “Like a crystal growing from rock, a dramatic structure emerges from the ground. The Emerald, creates a new dialogue between contemporary living and a completely new experience of space. Built from premium materials, this project, sculptural living space meets the highest standards in design, craftsmanship and sustainability. It is unique at every turn, offering maximum insulation and durability.” For now it’s just a project but it will be built in near future

Zayed National Museum from Foster

Today we want to show design for a Zayed National Museum on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi from Foster + Partners. The Mueum will feature five lightweight steel towers resembling birds’ wings, set within a landscaped mound with gallery spaces located at ground level. The aim has been to combine a highly efficient, contemporary form with elements of traditional Arabic design and hospitality to create a museum that is sustainable, welcoming and culturally of its place. Named after UAE founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the museum will be dedicated to the history and culture of the country.
